A message from Shirley Decker-Lucke, Managing Director of Social Science Research Network (SSRN):
Dear SSRN community,
As the year draws to a close, I wanted to share with you some of the work we’ve done in 2024 to improve the experience for authors and researchers at SSRN.
Our community of nearly two million researchers continues to grow, and we now host over 1.5 million research and working papers across 70 disciplines, linking people all over the world who freely post and read early-stage research on SSRN, where we share tomorrow’s research today.
This year we’ve been focusing on improving our platform for you. Here is some of what we’ve done:
New SSRN Submission Experience
This year we launched a brand-new Submission Experience to make it easier for authors to share their research, while also improving the quality of the data on our platform.
SSRN Classification Improvements
We have also deployed new technology to improve the speed and quality of our paper classification, which supports the discovery and eJournal distribution of the research you have posted on SSRN.
SSRN’s Meet the Author
This year we started interviewing authors about their research on the SSRN Blog, speaking to brilliant people in everything from political science, law, climate science, behavioral economics, to accounting. You can meet even more SSRN authors here.
New SSRN Content Hubs
We continue to spotlight the societal relevance of content with Hubs that look at contemporary topics such as Educational Impact and Evaluation Research, Responsible Urbanization, Affordable & Clean Energy, Women & Work, and Sustainable Transport. These Hubs and our Meet the Author interviews demonstrate the immensely broad range of research that SSRN hosts and reflect our unique position as a multi-disciplinary platform covering 70 disciplines.
As with every year, things at SSRN will quiet down at the end – you won’t be getting your usual SSRN eJournals and announcements from December 15th 2024 to January 3rd 2025, while we all take the time to rest and spend time with loved ones. The SSRN team looks forward to the New Year and to continuing to support you with the sharing of open early-stage research.
In a turbulent world, the challenges we face do not get easier. However, new research, new thinking and new ideas are a powerful way to address these challenges. At SSRN our mission is to rapidly share tomorrow’s research today, to empower global scholarship, to help shape a better future for everyone. You and your research are the reason we do what we do, and we’re honored to play a part in connecting researchers with research. Thank you for being a part of this community.
Every one of the 35 people who work at SSRN joins me as I wish you and your loved ones a happy and joyful holiday season.
